Sorry but I cannot understand the sister. She’s making a very huge assumption that Rubi is like her mother. Not to mention her brother is right, she should have said something. The flashbacks are clear that he cared and asked whenever he noticed something off. She chose to cover it up. For all we know Marta could be the reason their mother was driven to that state too. Smh I liked the sister but I’m having second thoughts.

I understand ellen’s behaviour but that doesn’t make it any less wrong or irrational. first of all, acting like ruby and her mother were going through the same thing is ridiculous aside from both of them having an ED they are completely different. ruby is not violent, she doesn’t present mood swings or any concerning suicidal thoughts. and I think ellen knows this, she is not an idiot, what I think is happening is that ellen and martha are afraid ruby will become like the mother. my theory is that martha wants to chase ruby out before she has a child with izek to prevent history from repeating, but that is only her justification, ruby would have been harassed either way for being the daughter of the pope. and that doesn’t change the fact that she turned a blind eye, that she tacitly took freya’s side, that she ultimately sees ruby as a “broken” woman just like her mother was
my opinion on what should happen to martha? kick her out. she saved ellen as a child, that doesn’t change, but she was complacent in the bullying of a woman that ultimately didn’t do anything wrong, and for someone so attached to the family, and ellen, having to leave would be just as bad as death, this will also be a good message for the other servants. killing martha would make it seem like izek is an irrational tyrant controlled by his evil wife, but kicking her out will send the message that disrespecting ruby will have real concequences without tarnishing anyone’s reputation
I also want ruby to close off to ellen, not forever, but at least until freya is out of the picture, I want ellen to have to win ruby’s trust
