OH So each of the previous kings correlates to the current dukes. The first King Celeste sacrificed his child, just like Rena’s father who is in charge of the North. This guy was the king of the east in the past, same place as our Duke. This is probably why his curse involves harming anyone who comes close to him, because this old king was a person who sought pleasure and many wives. The Himes king of the South has undead that just burned without much thought, just like how the South Duke’s grandfather burned everything after being possessed by the flames power. All of the punishments seems to be related to the sins of the previous kings of the region! My guess as to why the North has paranoia of being beheaded is because the North King of the past got beheaded for his sins.
