I felt she hesitated, then forgot, then hesitated again to answer his confession just for the sake of dragging things out unnecessarily. I am glad that’s done with so we can focus on Luca’s story.

not yall being mean ? a thousand things popped up, some arguably more important than this (pretending to be her dead sister for her nephew, moving them out to a duchy, then the capital, embroiled in political affairs, finding out she’s royalty). love is great and all but when you’re dealing with a full plate AND in a transmigrated body AND a reincarnated nephew, you’re gonna set it down for the time being. real love is steadfast – it can wait while the work needs to be done. and her concerns are justifiable. when you’re in love and caught in politics that run along the very thin line between personal and impersonal, you’re gonna be scared of being blinded or accidentally missing something important. love in the setting is not as simple as “I love you, let’s date” even if we want it to be. aristocrats don’t always work like that/are as lucky
