I feel like i should warn newcomers to this story. It’s not a happy one to be honest. Also i need to give a piece of my mind ? sorry for the long read !!! spoiler ahead. !!!
While reading this, i felt like i was in the shoes of a women victim of domestic abuse. You heard about it right ? It’s frustrating from the outsider view. “Why shes doesn’t leave her husband ?” Well, I got an insight.
Matthias is painted as someone perfect. There isn’t a speck of dust in his reputation. Yet we know that he’s cruel and abusive, verbally, mentally, sexually. It hurts reading this, but just after showing us his bad side, the author is showing his other sweet side. You almost forget for a minute or two that he’s horrible, until the author show us his bad side again. The constant switch was bad for my head and my heart ?
That’s one of the reason why the wifes being abused stay. “Oh but he said sorry and that he loves me” “he will change and i can help him” i thought I’d never fall for that shit, that the moment the guy show me his toxic side I’d next him. Well i almost fell for that by just reading hahaha.
If you still want to read the manhwa/novel, i gues we can see it as raising awareness of domestic abuse

Some situations are horrible (the moment Kyle open the door, enough said ?)

She leave. He suffers. Worse, when he finally let her go in a very emotional moment, she goes back to him. He make amends for everything. You’re happy for her but you can’t really forget all the suffering he did to her, so how could *she* forget/forgive ?
There’s an analogy with Twilight: Leyla love Matthias, but he is intoxicating. Kyle loved her even after everything that happened, he is much more healthy for her but she doesn’t chose him.
I feel so bad for Kyle. Dude needs therapy and peace.
