    I can’t be the only one who feels this story is a mess… I like the setting and original set up and I can get used to the style. But the whole plot itself is badly written and full of things that don’t really make sense.

    1.  The suddenly loving Leads
    I get it. Our leads are lonely and just want to love and be loved. okay. But they’ve literally spend a day with each other and are already head over heels? Is this the sims? Talk, talk, talk, flirt, flirt, hug, hug, kiss, propose, marry?

    2. You do you, Alexa.
    Why is everybody alright with alexa doing whatever she likes? It’s understandable that those lower in hierarchy are hesitant and keep running instead of accusing her, but even her own family is quite alright with EVERYTHING. Sloshing people with wine at your first proper outing? You do you.
    Breaking of your engagement in front of everyone, no prior consultation needed? Be our guest!
    It’s not something that would happen in a million years. Someone, who was usually obedient and just did what she was told suddenly fights back and flips fucking tables. You would try to knock sense into them. Because that is what you’re used to. You’re used to someone who does what you tell them to do. Who nods and agrees. All those situations should have been similar to that moment where she was refusing to go to war.

    3. Our über Villain…
    …is rather quiet, isn’t she? Ariel is supposed to be a bitch who wants her sister to suffer. But she…vanished? Now? To some secret place? And she just literally goes and drops her “true love”, basically outing herself as someone who just wants what her sister has or wants. Clever plan, I guess.

    4. That’s the right motivation!
    Or…is it? What exactly IS anyone’s motivation? Okay, Alexa wants to live. But…how? Why? What exactly inspires her? What makes her be so fired up to…do what she does? It is extremely bad if the reader can’t sense the leads motivation easily. And it’s bad if it is too vague of a motivation. “I want to live a good, worthy life” is very VERY vague. What exactly is a good and worthy life for you? Do you want riches? Do you want a family? Love? Freedom? Knowledge? How do you want these things? Why do you want them?

    5. Tropes – and that’s it.
    So far, both leads lack character because their intentions are vague and unclear – not in a good way. But in a sloppy and inexperienced way. They feel like tropes – not people.
    Ugly to beauty girl isekais and wants to turn her life around. She meets dark and broody guy. Both are outcasts, hence love. And now kiss.
    Because they are so lacking, nothing they do feels necessary and nothing they experience will ever stick to them – unless it directly affects their main reason for existing. There is nothing that can be changed. Our ML can’t suddenly learn to trust or open up to people, because he was never cold or distrustful. She said hi and he literally went LETS BE BESTIES NOW.
    Which can be a good set up for a story of betrayal. Him learning that not every person is worth of his trust – but that won’t happen since our FL actually likes him and accidental betrayals don’t quite carry the same weight.
    Same way our FL already doesn’t give a single fuck about anything. So what is there to learn or change? Even if our ML betrays her? She’ll be sad. And then she’ll be like: I knew people here sucked.

    It’s kind of sad, honestly. This whole story has a lot of potential, even if the art is messy and his hair…let’s not talk about his hair. But because everything feels forced and unnatural, it doesn’t pick up and it’s not really worth anyone’s time at this point.
