And I hate the ML hahaha. He is always thinking of only s*x, getting angry and not letting her do the things she wants.
@Saturn09_, unfortunately Maxi only starts to act out and do the things she wants until the last arc of this book and even then, she still has her low self steem. It’s at the beginning of the next book that she seems to grow into her own, but unfortunately that book is not yet available fully translated (last I checked). ML will continue to be a bit overbearing and quite controlling of Maxi throughout all of the first book though.
For people saying it takes a long time to post are right but that isn’t this websites fault the actual creator only posts on the 10th 20th and 30th and there’s a break every 4th week, Ik Ik I don’t know how they expect to ever get far into the story when they only post 3 to 2 times a month
@Saturn09_ that’s very cruel of you to think she can change in only more or less a year. Maxi has been abused since childhood and has developed so many issues with herself because of neglect and mistreatment. Do you know how damaging it is to someone’s self-confidence only knowing that they are worthless because their own parent constantly berates them for existing?! You can’t expect her to change that much especially given that a lot of the people around her, the ones she wants to grow closer with, all have resentment towards her because of her father and even though they have opened up a bit to her they still aren’t very comfortable with her yet. And as someone who knows people who suffer like Maxi, honestly I’m angry whenever someone says stuff like that, thinking that it’s easy to heal the years of emotional damage like it’s nothing. It’s such an insensitive thing to say even though she is only a fictional character it doesn’t change the fact that there are many people who have problems like her and require a lot to finally change their bad habits and self-deprecation. She is doing her best to change. Baby steps, but at least there has been some progress.
Im glad that Ruth encouraged Maxi to become better, but i hate that ppl said Maxi took a long time to build her self esteem and etc, she’s been abused since her childhood so of course dude it hard for her, and for the god sake Riftan should be the one who support her and both of them should communicate more often rather than tangle on the bed all day long ??♀️ poor Maxi.

This is a story about a woman learning to love herself and realize that she does have value, people do actually find her existence important. No one is forcing you to read Under the Oak Tree. Take your negativity and stick it.
