he kept attending ball events which he didn’t usually do just to get a glimpse of Maxi. though she would be in a corner or sometimes leave early, he tried to get a chance to talk to her but never did?
I do wonder tho for how much longer is her “I’m so pitiful, I’m so useless, I’m so this and that” mindset is going to last.
Someone tell me cuz if this is going to last all the way up to chapter 100 and still not seeing any improvement like that of Like A Wind On A Dry Branch and it’s fl’s “I’m so pitiful I don’t deserve love” mindset then I’am dropping this right now.

It’s not a “mind set” that Maxi has.It was beaten into her body physically. Repeatedly from the time she was very small and even up till the day Riftan came to bring her to Anatol that she is worthless and good for nothing.
You try having a normal state of mind after suffering from both physical and mental abuse you’re entire life and see if you don’t have the same kind of thinking.
A few months of gentle care is NOT going to erase a lifetime of abuse.
Can it help? Yes, but these things TAKE TIME.
