The only person being “kind” to her is also the person who gets everything he wants while putting in as little effort as possible.
She has things she enjoys and is good at, but she can’t do those things because she isn’t allowed to outshine her brother. She’s been publicly humiliated by her father, the emperor, which means she can’t have any normal relationships with other children her age either. What noble is going to let their children become close to the child the emperor publicly hates? It’s political suicide. In her first life, the only people she could get behind her where those who benefited from overthrowing the empire and used her as a tool, then discarded her when she was no longer useful.
this is going to be my guess from some raw panels i seen so SPOILER WARNING, ik she has a lot of experience with the sword bc of her past life but since she’s in a small body it’s definitely different and i think he brothers going to go easy on her and let her win and it’ll remind her of the past and how he let her kill him, ik that in the past she kills him but i don’t know if he let her by going easy so that’s just a guess , the spoilers i got was of her w her sword through him and him having a smile on his face so like i said this is kinda my theory.
@justreadinalong that’s way easier said than done. its more than just jealousy, it’s an inferiority complex and trauma that stems from being not just abandoned, but forgotten and disrespected. to her it was almost like Ray was rubbing in his good upbringing and kindness (even though he wasn’t, bless his soul honestly. it would take coming to terms with herself and separating herself from her past (which is extremely difficult) to make amends
