Abuse is abuse whoever n that situation might be, and shouldn’t be happen to anyone.
I kinda pity both the FL and the brother. The brother has gone through so much abuse and torment from his father that it must be traumatic for him, so I kinda understand why he would do that. It’s the only way for him to escape the cycle. Like the Fl mentioned he is a coward and uses her as a shield against violence. I’m not saying what he did was okay or anything, I’m just saying that it’s understandable. Not even the maids or servants in the house would help the FL when she was abused, so he probably had no one to shield him from he’s father. All on his own, stuck in the cycle. This both would have a physical and mental effect on him, especially at a young age. At least the FL has the witch now, the brother had no one.
