I’m skipping from ch 20 bc I need to know:: is she still rejecting being the empress? It’s frustrating watching her in those early chapters and I’m considering dropping this
I’m assuming the emperor set up a ploy to ruin baldwin (other psycho blonde dude). whoever has the blue diamond ring is considered the emperor and our ML originally cut off baldwin’s finger to take it. ML swapped it for a fake that can detect poison and the original plan was for him to “drink” the wine, but actually spill it on the fake ring so he can frame Baldwin, who would come marching in after. but that plan didn’t go correctly so he had no choice but to drink it instead – both results would frame Baldwin.
this was why he was telling FL to live long and happily. something not go right and he also gave her the ring to symbolize putting her in the highest power. he was fully ready to die and that’s why he’s the way he is now.
also, its implied he has also time traveled so thats why he’s saying what he’s saying, but unlike the edenburgs (FL, cousin) who seem to time travel simply because of their blood, his condition might be the ring. there’s no telling if he’d travel back since FL has the real ring rn. I think he came so close to completely dying and was stuck in limbo that when he came back, he returned as a fraction of himself. he needs to be reminded of what is still here for him (baldwin appears to be dead and FL is there)
Why is their pieces of the story missing?! I don’t understand what I’m reading anymore. If someone could summarize what’s happening I’d appreciate it. ??
