I love that we’re getting this glimpse of the story. However this is a major plot hole. If the Cayena we are seeing now was reincarnated into adult Cayena from a novel, how does this Cayena know and have these memories and feelings from when the novel Cayena was a young girl, before present Cayena was reincarnated?
@yunran she has lived 3 lives. her first life was her living as princess cayena, her second life was her as a typical korean office worker (i believe this is when she read the novel and realized), and this is her third life, now knowing it was all a novel to begin with. its not super clear because the translation isnt very good.
@yunran it’s not actually a plot hole, though I see how you could get confused. In the beginning of the story, they state that she was actually Cayena first. She was Rezef’s puppet until she was sold off to her “husband” Gillian, who abused her up until he eventually killed her for trying to contact help.
Then she lived a life as a normal woman in modern day South Korea. She read a book about Raphael and Olivia, where Cayena was the two-bit villain who was manipulated until her death. She sympathized with novel!Cayena since she was also used by her work supervisor , who got her to do illegal things to get a better position only for her to end up trapped since the supervisor now had blackmail. She was then killed by one of the people she had screwed over
Finally, she woke up as Cayena /again/, after already living as her once. So our MC is hoping the third time’s the charm and that her life won’t suck this time ’round
This does lead to a lot of questions: Why that book existed in “our world”, why she is living as Cayena for the second time, ect. And I don’t think those questions will ever be answered, but there is a good reason why she has all of Cayena’s memories
@Licilou They usually don’t explain the reincarnation logic a lot but I think her second life as an office worker could have been formed around what she needed in order to succeed in her second life. Meaning the whole world, as in her own perception, was just a set-up to prepare her for the second try, hence why she was able to learn about herself in a third party view. Honestly in the end, they chalk it up to some god’s will thingy so this is just a random theory and it’s more likely the gods took favour to her more than anything.
