@Kian the emperor favors Paris because he’s the son of the woman the emperor was actually in love with. Then the previous emperor killed that woman. To get revenge, the current emperor married FL’s mom and had her (then murdered both the mom and the previous emperor and took power). So Paris and the FL are half-siblings and FL is just the daughter of people the emperor hated.
