I don’t like there being differences between this and the novel. There are better details and more to the “shall I cut off his hand?” line. I’m also pretty sure it’s spelled ‘Kalis’ and not ‘Callis’, along with Stem not having an e at the end
@paintedtrash The name change from a sound to another doesn’t matter because originally it’s not written in our alphabet. Calis and Kalis and heck even in french Calice are pronunced the same. So the novel translators could have used any of these. There are rules for phonetical translation but not necessarily applicable 100% .
Doesn’t explain why it wouldn’t be the same as novel translation though. And that doesn’t relate to me saying this adaptation is less detailed than the novel

Nitpicking about the spelling is nonsense because Korean language don’t use English alphabet. Romanization is all over the place that is why Koreans spell their names differently. The end of my daughters name is ju where others use joo. Even my maiden name some of my family members use Ji, while my immediate family uses Chi. You can google. Taegu= Daegu, Pusan = Busan, etc etc. Just google Korean romanization.
