She’s literally creating problems where there aren’t none. He set the boundary. He does not want another woman, especially that Saint who caused his archduchess (even if only by title) to nearly die before his eyes in his own facility, in his home. He probably already had the thought of the saint possibly cleansing this place prior but made the decision anyway to not let her come. And yes, he also shouldn’t have goaded her by bringing up her ex if he wanted to make the point that the Saint isn’t trustworthy enough to be in his house.
For him the death of all these people isn’t certain. For her it already happened. And she knows for certain how to save them. Yes, inviting Lina isn’t a pleasant thing for either of them, but she is willing to swallow her pride in order to save everyone – it’s her choice. And he wanted to save his people so badly that he risked inviting magicians which is illegal. And now his pride and his past are worth more than their lives? It’s his turn to make a choice now.
If only he knew how insecure she was in saying that he should invite that woman to this place.

I think all these comments (especially that uncalled for one that trash talked the FL and called her disgusting and stupid wtf) are forgetting that she has experienced this and has first hand knowledge. yall acting like she’s “oBeYiNg tHe oG sToRy” but that’s far from it. she’s using it as a stepping stone to navigate it. she’s already aware of and attached to these “characters” – so much that the thought of “inviting in another woman” who notoriously stole her love hardly fucking matters if it meant saving people she KNOWS are going to die. meanwhile the archduke doesnt know for certain they will die. all he’s trying to do is ensure that the dumb whore Lina stays the fuck away, even if it means spelling it out so brutally to the FL (because as we can see, she sees him as his savior but he’s got feelings). this is partially miscommunication yeah but it’s kinda hard to say “yeah your whole house is gonna die and ik because my soul isn’t from here.” pleade be logical when criticizing these characters man ??
