Both the females annoy me. Constance is so stuck in “the original plot goes this way” that she hasn’t had a real thought of her own that hasn’t been orchestrated by the plot. The story is roughly following the original and cause she has prior knowledge as to what happens and has different reactions and behaviours the story would have deviated from the original just by her being in it
She is not using her knowledge of the story efficiently and prioritising important things but instead getting her thoughts caught up in matters that are inconsequential
