*IMO* Helga from what I remember in prior chapters had always been self reliant. Since her Nanny died Rohan only became the very few moments of happiness compared to the everyday torture she endured.
Therefore how can we expect her to be swoon by him for wanting to protect her when she’s been doing that for all her life? Yeah ofc she wants a break but she doesn’t want it at the extent of someone else’s protection. She wants to make a “real name” for herself without anyone’s help. A new life that’s completely hers at the expense of help from no one.
