I have no respect for that part in Korean (Asian) culture in general. Not using someone’s given name is just disrespectful. A name can be said in many different ways but to actively avoid using your name is just insulting. I don’t give a crap that it’s a cultural thing. In Africa it’s common to sell your daughters for livestock and such things. That’s a ‘cultural’ thing they do and I don’t agree with that either.
Some cultural traditions are simply plain wrong and is worse than others. But you can’t say this in today’s world because then you are called racist and intolerant. Well, fine then. You sell your daughter for some pork and don’t even speak each other’s names. Ridiculous.
The person above you’re quite rude you could’ve expressed your displeasure with that point nicely also why are bringing africa here thats quite disrespectful i live in africa and never heard of such thing it could happen anywhere in the world but it’ll never be normalised to the point of it becoming tradition these stereotype people have about africa is concerning
