It hurts, why do this chapter hurt so much ? Probably because it’s so relateable to people that lost their way in life. Most of the time, we stopped at “It doesn’t matter anymore”. Because he made friends, along his way, but he has doubt, just like us when we first walked alone only with people’s trust. “Why do you trust me this much ?” “Why are you so happy to be with me?” “What did I do to deserve this much happiness ?” Is most often the question that pop up on people that are depressed/
I think this chapter is the epitome of saying out loud how people lost, I love how the author and artist is able to make this one, it captures the feeling and despair perfectly, even in the happy environment, Irene doesn’t get caught up with happiness and drown in it. Instead he contemplates, why do happiness appears to help him ? Maybe deep down he has something he really wanted from the start.
