I don’t think he lost his memory. I think he went back in time and knew Eloise is actually innocent. He regretted killing her so some magical thing happened and he went back in time. So now he knows that he can trust Eloise and that he actually loves her.

I also think that the og Eloise was innocent but why would she openly accept the blame if she wasn’t even the traitor?
