In all of the monarchical stories I’ve read tea time is the norm in high society, especially in the lady’s gatherings. It seems the author made wine drinking the norm to make the fl and her love for tea stand out.
I mean with etiquette and all for ladies to be chugging it down during gatherings in the middle of the afternoon is a bit contradictory to me.
In any case the author needs an excuse for the fl to be unique.
