In the novel, this scene, how Simon/Shyman discovered Callia’s absence, was also written in his POV. How he started spiraling and rampaged because he couldn’t find her. And how he no longer found any reason to listen to the prince since his “loyalty” is no longer there. His fellow wizards was so scared of him they parted like the red sea whenever he’s in the area! Another fyi, his trip was supposed to last a month, but because he couldn’t bear to be apart from Callia that long he rushed his team and pressured them to finish it in 2 weeks. Brick, Callia’s 2nd in commands screen time was also cut short. He knelt for 3 days begging Callia not to leave saying he did not deserve to replace her. They removed a lot of good stuff. Even Allen’s POV!?
