^ this is true. that isn’t to say ariadne wasn’t strong or intelligent in their past life – that ariadne had been blatantly head over heels for him. I think besides the challenge she presents now, she’s also in her much truer form without needing to cater to cesare’s whims, which is attractive to him. she’s no longer trying to put forward an “acceptable” self, which he clearly seems to like beyond duty (and I’m otl kinda here for it)
