Just wanted to mention, the whole issue with the “nether region” is really dumb, unless the floating island is really low, or they’re surrounded by mountains. The sun moves in the sky, so the shadow of the island also moves. There would not be one single, permanently dark region. The residents should be able to see the sun for some time around every sunrise and sunset, unless something is blocking the horizon all the way up to the lip of the sky island.

I like how the FL’s growth is gradual and not linear. The contradiction of having a lot of pride while simultaneously having low self steem makes her interesting. Right now her pride comes only from her title and her low self steem comes from her lack of power. I look forward to when she herself, regardless of her title, becomes her real source of pride.
