This is the only thing that pisses me off in this manga. When will they finally learn that corsets are not some evil torture device? And children didn’t even wear them for the most cases. I have worn a corset before and it was comfortable. Yeah, might not exactly be a pleasure to wear under the scorching sun, but there were also dresses that didn’t require for you to wear corsets. Corsets are just old bras :/
@FLOOF this is in a setting where corsets are used every single day, not just every once in a while. Not to mention that they have high beauty standards here, the tighter the corset, the better.
Wearing a corset on too tight for too long can affect your body in so many ways over time IRL (breathing, even eating just a little will just upset your stomach, cause organ deformity, etc. There are so much problems caused by wearing a tight corset for too long)
Basically, there have been life long issues and even a few deaths caused by corsets in real life. I’ve worn them too but you will NEVER catch me wearing them every single day or even eat with one on.
