Though this is story is funny, it’s also heart-wrenching in a way that isn’t over the top but is still palpable. The FL’s trauma from her marriage and the lack of love and acknowledgment from her ex-husband have colored everything, from her view of intimacy to her view of childbirth and motherhood. I hope that they expand more into that, though that is also so sad…it doesn’t have to be said, but her feelings of unreciprocated love are obvious and painful. I hope the new husband can help heal her broken heart as a result of her past life.
