I’m confused. Apparently she loved her husband, and he was upfront about his situation, the curse, and so on. She accepted all of that and married him anyway. She gave birth to a healthy son and heir to the duchy. So far everything would be going as expected.
Then her husband died, I don’t recall why exactly, maybe a seizure? Basically the curse killed him. But both her and Celphi were alive. If she loved her husband, presumably she would also love their child. So she had no reason to leave after the husband died. She was a widow but still the mother of the current heir. Technically Celphi should be the grand duke, with someone to act as regent, but let’s say their inheritance laws demand an adult to inherit, so the current duke inherited instead.
He also loved his brother, from what we’ve seen, and had no interest in being duke. He even adopted Celphi so he could remain the heir. There would have been no reason for him to kick her out.
So who and why exactly kicked her out? Why did she leave her son behind?
@Kian I’m as confused as you are, because from the looks of it, there was no reason for her to leave her son behind and disappear the way she did. Unless there’s more to their story and she’s not willing to reveal, and the duke seems to know of it hence how hesitant he is to even open the topic again with Pereshati or even give it a moment’s thought.
Adding to that, something is very off with the duke. His distant stare, and telling her she didn’t mean to go there on purpose. What does he even mean? and what is he hiding?
^^ its possible that celphi was taken away or given away because his mother is normal, therefore should he have a seizure that involves vomiting blood, she would be killed. losing him like that could’ve made her feel belittled, reduced to “a tool for offspring” and it doesn’t help that the lapileon are rather closed off and relatively cold (with good reason considering their curse ofc). she’s inherently a good person and trying to warn and advise pereshati because she’s been in her shoes: in love with a lapileon. ofc, she doesn’t know pereshati’s a regressor or that she’s beginning to solve the curse so yk.
she’s a good person and she loved celphi and her husband, but the cards were dealt against her. she had to give it all up, maybe unwillingly but with equal understanding and begrudgement. and it made her feel small for having her family taken from her by a curse and a clan she knows she can’t blame, but can’t help but do so anyway because of what she lost
