^ I think they have a 6-7 year age gap, which wasn’t uncommon at the time (or even now in adult couples). The reason I say 6 is possible is because she married at ten so the 10 years ago text could’ve just been rounding. Also if he got the title at 16 and he just recently got the title it’s reasonable to assume he’s also 16 in the flashback. 🙂

2. He sent a huge amount of dowry with his daughter.
—-(ML would feel more inclined to help MCs father, considering these two factors already)
3. The Count sent a nanny that was very vocal about how “lavish” the 9 year old MC was.
—-(It would be seen that through the nanny, the MCs husband would always want absorbent amount of money to sustain his wifes upkeep, so he would keep returning to war to keep up with her “spending”)
4. The Count didn’t take his daughter back after she was kicked out of her home.
—-(I get most families would be very open on NOT allowing their divorced children back in their homes as it could ruin their reputation, however…. She was a widow and she basically spent the rest of her adult life in a monastery)
