I understand the problem, shasa is normal child while michael is different than his peers . He got heavy attachment with MC because she is also different.
The problem is, usually its an adult job to MEDIATE IN THE FIGHT LIKE THIS.
Adult job is to Help explaining the main problem and encourage them to search solution. The “watching from sideline” move only effective when michael still has parent figure to explain to him, the problem he doesnt have one.
The fact that MC parents dont do anything, and watch from sideline can be seen as pressure and rejection.
