Abigail may have become pretty for the general standards, but to this day she could never heal from her traumas of being a “fat person”, and only someone who used to be overweight understands the feeling that, no matter how skinny you get, it’s really hard to not feel, see and treat yourself as if you’re still trapped in the old body, being vulnerable enough to break completely by one single comment about your appearance as if the all effort to change wasn’t enough, making you consider going back to destructive habits in an attempt to “succeed this time”.
I really see myself in Abigail in these aspects and I really hope the author treats this with respect to the readers by giving Abigail an actual development and feeling happy with herself even if she is not skinny enough for other people.
