Slow burns sometimes get boring in manhwas because they tend to drag out trivial issues but this one seems so good tho, Like it emphasises on stuff that is naturally supposed to take long, like Sebelian’s trauma and Baek Hap Lee’s insecurities and so it feels closer to home and that’s just so cute
It’s a slow burn but I can’t really feel it. Also it’s realistic with his trauma, but tbh I’ve seen worse. Beatrice is one of my favorite manhwa’s and it was very slow too. I’m also reading few who are way worse
What distinguishes this one form other “slow” stories is that the pace may be glacial, but it does move forward. They overcome issues and grow closer together over time. It’s just that they started very far apart and their issues take time to get over. In other stories, the authors just drag things out for no reason. The ML or FL just “run in place” taking one step back for every step forward for no reason.
@Delphie I agree with you! It’s rather hard to find something that fits within slow burn that doesn’t drag out and stretch the plot of the story with trivial stuff. In this manhwa, despite it being slow burn the pace feels natural, Sebelian’s trauma and Abigail’s insecurity about herself feel realistic to the reader. The development from how far they were from each other, and now how fond they grew of each other really feels rewarding. You can really see how Sebelian has grown fond of her and really trusts her.
