I agree with the first commenter. Truth be told, Perez needs some friends and connections aside from Tia and Tia needs to focus too so by the time they are adults/teens they are power houses. They will obviously still write letters and not seeing each other would definitely built the attraction and want/need for each other and their feelings, you know?
