I actually like that he’s so upset about her family hanging around. It’s not just about his fear that she’ll go back home; it’s about how she reacts every time her family is brought up. And how her brother literally jumped over the fence to get to her.
He’s protecting her from what seems to be an obsessive, abusive family.
The author is playing up the fear of her leaving, but I think that’s a big element of it and it makes me love the ML that much more.
So basically what’s going on is he’s in love with her. But he knows if she accepts her families apologies she’s going to leave. So she blocked all communication between her and her family. After seeing she still has a contact with her family he’s angry. If she leave he’ll be alone for three kids he doesn’t know how to take care of.
