He didn’t want to harm her and he knew that going in as he had the upper hand in skills so he never attacked over the limit, then she tried to win by making him stab her which could get her the upper hand in a real battle as her sword was near his neck .
ah I feel bad for everyone here. it was probably very obvious to both son & father ( and likely even to her sister ) that this was just a competition where you don’t go to such lengths to win. but kashimir obviously went into this with the same mindset she had when she went into a real battle as a mercenary.
