Make sure you are getting about and 1 1/2 inches of depth when compressing and wait for the chest to come back up before starting the next compression. It is helpful to count “1 and 2 and 3 and 4…” until you get to ten to get the correct pace. You’re going to count to thirty, provide two rescue breaths ( if you have PPE) before you begin another cycle. Continue until you can longer do it or until EMS arrives. When the AED arrives, put it on and follow directions (it will show pictures for pad placement and the machine will tell you what to do), when it tells to administer shock tell everyone to back up and DO NOT touch the person until after the shock is administered. The AED is what will truly bring the person back if they had no pulse.
