The ML bashing is kinda extreme on this one especially because the FL is getting none of the same pushback. The FL loves Lea NOW and is a good person NOW after suddenly being enlightened by a vision of a past life and knowledge of the story’s future events but she’s the same, if not worse, than the ML. The issue is that we have to see the ML work through his trauma.Was what he said and done sh*tty; of course, but we see that he’s literally saying hurtful things on purpose, he’s possibly scared of caring for his wife and daughter because of ✨️Trauma✨️. He is clearly a good person given that he cares for his subjects and subordinates he just has issues with family and so far the glimpses of his mom’s brainwashing and his illegitimate child status are showing us why. We even are told that he feels guilt after killing his daughter and wife due to the curse and that was before his wife’s enlightenment. I wish people would be a little more forgiving to him as they are to the FL, I mean there is a reason he’s still ML after everything right? Of course I hope the FL runs away as well so he can face his feelings but I don’t think he’s this irredeemable a**hat that everyone is making him out to be, the true villians are the people who abused and traumatized the ML. As for the FL we really haven’t got an explanation on why she was as horrible as she was other than” I was compelled by some unknown force to neglect my daughter, abuse my servants and treat my husband as lesser because he was ‘illegitimate’ ” which makes her worse in comparison to ML to me. I like them both though honestly.
