Indeed, he is a wimp, but I understand why. Lots of people who grew up with toxic narcissistic parents (i.e. the queen mother) end up having very low self-esteem and difficulty setting boundaries or standing up for themselves. It’s because the narcissist teaches them to be submissive and weak willed because it’s easier to control. My hope is that he becomes more independent and have character growth.
