The depth of selfishness hiding behind the “it is all so abel could live” when doing so hurts not only abel and hades but everyone around her. Running from the problem with the easiest way out cuz it’s hard for her to endure and think of other ways.
Death has always been such an easy and cowardly escape.
I thought she was going to kill herself or ask the red haired. It makes no sense for her to assume Hades will kill her if she asked, especially after saying all this. I mean, at this point, she could’ve pretended to want to hurt Abel so she would be killed in turn and leave them with a way to hate her (feel betrayed) rather than with the guilt of having killed her. She isn’t being neither fair nor selfless with how she’s going about the situation, since she’s still presenting herself as a saintly victim.
Ppl in the comments don’t seem to understand why she’s asking Hades out of all ppl. Because Hades is outside of God’s punishment due to not being a believer, and she does have evidence for this from her past memory of asking this of Hades. The red haired guy does believe in God. If you say she should kill herself, in the novel, she HAS (via pills) but keeps getting resurrected. And, yes, it’d hurt Hades, but lots of parents would agree that if killing one of parents would save their child–they would. So it’s not that outrageous. But, worry not, Hades does reject this idea and tries to create a third option–spoilers if I remember correctly, to attack God himself.

Didn’t she say a few chapters ago that Hades was the only one who could kill her? That’s why she’s asking him, isn’t she? Also the possibility that you could potentially kill someone you love is scary, of course she wants to remove herself.
Her play at selfless sacrifice is based on nothing more than her own unproven theory on a collective of assumptions.
Atp she knows nothing for certain, her selfish wish for hades to kill her are based on nothing but a one-sided hope that it will end her suffering.
Abel and hede’s life and relationship will never be the same coz abel isn’t going to just accept that hades killed his beloved mother sitting down.
Self sacrifice is complete BS.
