^^^^^^ my theory exactly. My guess is he knew her in the past in his beast form before loosing contact. Meeting up again after being saved, he was probably scared of loosing her again so he created a temporary imprint in hopes it’ll become permanent
I guess it is possible, but I don’t think the imprint was necessarily on purpose. I’m guessing they knew each other when her parents were still alive, and he’s been vengeful ever since she and her brother disappeared. As for Rudel, she might be a house cat.
