So if we accept @Rune’s math, which makes sense, did she really only wait two years after promising to wait for him? Seriously? I know that’s what it said in the first chapter, but I thought it was just like, “one year passed, then another, and so on” for an indeterminate amount of time. Did she think he asked her to wait for him because he was going to the store or something? I like her less and less the more I learn about her. Guy went to war, about three years later he went back to the orphanage and she wasn’t there anymore. If she’d waited one more year the whole first timeline wouldn’t have happened in the first place.
I don’t know how long you’re supposed to wait when someone says “I promise to come back, please wait for me”, but I think at least 5 years would be polite. At least try to figure out who this guy was and where he went before you up and marry the next guy that comes along.
