From one side, she lied to the duke. It’s not a small lie but a big one that potentially put his son to danger. So, it’s understandable that he’s furious at her.
But, from another side, it doesn’t justify his action to her to say she’s insensitive to pain or didn’t do anything when someone physically abused his wife. BUT he’s reflecting on himself and try to fox his mistakes.
I think, both the FL and the duke are wrong. But both have their own reason and both are not 100% wrong. So i don’t think it’s right either to blame one side only. Whether it is the duke or the FL
