It’s a character development yes but it’s still unhealthy having a person as a lifeline ??? especially if it’s just one ?? what if she (author forbid) but what If she died ? he would be devastated. Or worse — yes worse– what if she decided to run away from him! He would spiral back out of control
I mean what matters right now is that he’s trying. a journey of self development like this is absolutely not going to perfect and there’s def going to be times he might relapse. what matters is that he’s starting the journey to begin with. it’s hard to break old habits esp if they were defense or coping mechanisms, so sometimes you gotta fake it till you make it, like yk it hasnt even been that long since he decided to change so he deserves quite a bit of credit. all I’m praying for rn is that these two end up happy together, no matter what bumps they’ll come across on the road
