She was thrown into this suddenly within the past few months. Of course she wouldn’t know how to handle separating a title and her identity. Our MC herself showed hints of doing that, and in order to cope with being in a new world, she disconnected from it. Our MC sees people as ships/otps, characters in a story–not real. Both of the female leads have their issues with identity but are at different stages of it

Sit down and read, just because most stories are like that doesn’t mean all have to be so.
