And while it does seem the dad cares about the mom, he seems to care more about the benefits of things over family (i.e. marrying off the daughter, having a son as an heir jnstead of the daughter).
I doubt he count cares about his wife, if he really did he would at least care for ver indirectly through her. Also, this guy tried to marry his daughter to an abuser who tried to have his guard rape her and gave her a butler that was sexually abusing her. Have many times has the og Ver came to him for help. She was downright suicidal, I think what might’ve really broke was not all that was happening to her, but the fact that her father knew and didn’t care
