seems so. the guy was essentially a reanimated corpse that could wield all of the magic in that stone and she was the only person who could stop it, but was injured. better to take down the entire area and the threat with her to keep it contained before it can get out (like nuking a quarantine zone of zombies before they can spread). the stone was meant to die with them so it couldn’t infect anyone else either
