Why so surprised? I mean your pretend lover tried to kill your real wife. You even stood and held this “lover” as she cried. So, is it pretend or real? Your wife seems to think it’s real. You wanted her to react, now she is reacting and you don’t like it. It doesn’t make sense that you’d be startled by her desire to escape you.

They’ll totally understand when she wants to go back home. I mean, I presume they both saw who comfort Isabella and hold her. Ugh, dismissed sir.
So what did Chloe see or hear exactly? Because it’s clear Damian was rebuking Isabella the entire time, is aware that she instigated the accident, and has essentially signed her death warrant. Or at least will not save her from the consequences of her own actions. Chloe would have had to have very selective hearing or sight to misconstrue what happened.
I still like the ML and still am on his and cloe’s side. I agree she would’ve had to have extremely selective hearing to not hear what they were talking about and only get isabella’s screaming. and woth the hug, that felt more like a villain hug lol. like the sort that someone who wants nothing to do with you any more would give, both as a last act of kindness but also as a twist of a knife (think about it. Isabella never had and never will have him so the one time they don’t have to pretend is the one time he hugs her). he essentially signed her off on her death. it’s similar to death row last suppers or blindfolding those who will be executed. they’re last acts of humanity. blows my mind that readers would see this as anything but lol
Obviously our FL didn’t hear any single word that came out of our ML ……….. But she definitely heard every single details of issabila’s love confession ????…… Women ☕
I agree with @Kian, people really can’t interpret characters and compare 2d aristocratic man and relationships from the past to real contemporary life. It’s really annoying. The story had barely any time to develop, chill guys.
Its kinda weird how most of you are ready to put all the blame on fl but dont even realise that the ml intentionally spread rumours of him having an affair with the marchioness, just to see if the fl will finally lash out. he hasnt even tried to clear the misunderstanding about his supposed affair with chloe so what is she supposed to think. he mocks her from time to time.

he will go on to do much worse to our fl especially after framing her for a murder she didnt do.
