Okay, I think we’ve all established that the priest guy made up or doctored a prophecy that Asharte was the dark/destruction of the empire, while Amaryllis was the light/savior. But wouldn’t it be nice if Asharte was the light/destruction? Like yeah, she’ll save the empire (or rather its people) but like destroy the previous dynasty and make it anew after throwing out her trash father and brothers?
@Avalon spoilers but the head priest actually completely changed the prophecy. It never talked about destruction, just that into the imperial family will be born a child blessed by the gods with black hair, that’s why the gods told the empress to name her Ashtarte. That child was said to also be gifted with magic and bring prosperity to the empire, and the gods chose her soul because it was kind and loving despite hardships and longed for a family. Instead the high priest made up the destruction bit and talked about life vs darkness and put the fake princess in there as the “light”. He wanted the fame and benefits himself.
