I was wondering if the “anyone who shares a drop of blood” bit was going to come back to bite him, with our FL happening to be a relative, but he seems to know exactly who she is, so that’s unlikely. I suspect he knew her even before they met, probably childhood friends or studied at the academy together. He kept his distance because she was engaged, but once the Count dropped the engagement he pounced.
I’d like to know the ages of everyone involved though. The emeperor ascended 7 years before, and she had been engaged for ten years. Why did she delay her wedding so long, if it sounded like the Count was the one who should have pushed for it to happen faster? Did the emperor interfere to prevent her from actually getting married?
I don’t like the concept when all relatives should be punished because of one criminal. I mean I understand that it’s done to prevent revenge, but why innocent people should pay for others sins
