Besides, he says how “things don’t change” when he sees evidence of corruption, but he was the guy in charge! He was the one that was supposed to root out the corruption in the first place. So why make a fuss about it now, when the new empress is just only getting her bearings? And besides, she was a scholar, not a “pampered noble lady” like he thinks the others are. She didn’t do any of the things he claims to dislike. This guy is just salty that his temporary position got handed to the person that would have had to do it all along.
