I love how Larissa’s psyche is illustrated. It looks like a picture book, as she hides up in the clouds, afraid to come down. I see it as Larissa’s defense mechanism of dissociation. Coming back (down to earth) from dissociation can also be scary, especially when “under the clouds” typically meant feeling the pain of abuse. It warms my heart that Larissa is moving towards recovery, that she’s not as afraid anymore to “come under the clouds”
@AngieAllum I couldn’t have said it better myself! She’s slowly, but surely making a steady recovery, not even Igor ambushing them halted her progress. I hope we get more from Larissa’s perspective soon!
Larissa is so adorable. I love how the author shows that she’s still struggling, not just “all of a sudden alright” as soon as she was saved by her sister. Healing takes time.
I wish things were better for Marcia and the duke. They obviously care about each other. I can’t wait for their relationship to grow and evolve!
